What every memorial page includes

Each page is a self-contained memorial — no navigation, no clutter, just the information people need during a difficult time.

Photo & tribute

A dignified photo of the deceased with their name, dates, age, and a tribute written by the family or yourself on their behalf.

Service details

Multiple services supported — funeral, committal, wake, celebration of life. Each with date, time, venue, address, and an embedded map with directions.

Venue maps

Google Maps embedded for every venue — attendees tap "Get directions" on their phone and navigate straight there. No searching, no wrong turns.

Condolence book

Visitors leave a name, relationship, and a message for the family. Public, moderated, and lasting — a digital book of memories.

Donations & flowers

"Donations to Macmillan in lieu of flowers" — with a direct link to the charity. Family flowers only? Say it clearly so nobody has to ask.

Livestream link

For those who can't attend in person — a prominent link to the livestream so they can watch from home. One click, no searching.

Mobile-first

Most people will see this on their phone. Every element is designed for thumbs — big tap targets, readable text, maps that open in the Maps app.

Private & respectful

Pages are not indexed by search engines. No advertising, no tracking, no social media widgets. Just the information, presented with care.

Messages arrive

Friends and family leave condolence messages online. You can moderate them from your dashboard. The family gets a lasting book of memories.

Why this matters

Better than a phone call, a Facebook post, or a chain of texts

No more repeating the same details

The family shares one link. Everyone gets the same accurate information — times, addresses, parking, dress code. No "what time was it again?" calls.

People actually find the venue

An embedded map with a "Get directions" button means nobody arrives late because they couldn't find the crematorium entrance.

Condolences that last

Facebook comments disappear in the feed. A condolence book stays. Families come back months later and read every message. It matters.

A service your families will remember you for

Offering a memorial page sets you apart. Families are grateful for anything that makes a hard time slightly easier. This is that thing.

Common questions

Questions from funeral directors

How long does it take to set up a memorial?+
Under 5 minutes if you have the details to hand. Name, dates, service times, venues — fill in what you know, skip what you don't. You can come back and edit any time before or after publishing.
Can I set up a memorial before I'm ready to publish?+
Yes — creating a memorial is free. It stays as a draft until you hit Publish. You only pay (£19.99) at the moment of publication. Edit as much as you like beforehand.
How long does the memorial stay live?+
60 days after the funeral date. That gives enough time for late condolences and family to re-read messages. After that, the page is archived. If the family wants to keep it live permanently, we can arrange that for a small additional fee.
Can I charge the family for this?+
Absolutely. You pay £19.99 per memorial. Most funeral directors include it as a line item in their service package — typically £30–40 to the family. The family sees it as a thoughtful, modern addition to the service. You keep the margin.
Can anyone see the condolence messages?+
Yes — condolence messages are publicly visible on the memorial page. You can remove any message from your director dashboard if it's inappropriate. The page itself is not indexed by search engines, so it's only accessible to people who have the direct link.
Do I need any technical knowledge?+
None at all. If you can fill in a form and click "Publish", you can create a memorial page. The venue maps are generated automatically from the address and postcode you enter. Everything is done through your browser — no software to install.
Who built this?+
Built by Lee James, a UK developer who builds tools for small businesses and individuals. Real human. Email replies, no chatbot. hello@myfuneral.date
